FRC Scout 2015

I apologize if anyone has been fretting about FRC Scout in 2015 due to the lack of information posted about it. However, I am pleased to let you all know that FRC Scout will be back in 2015, we just had a bit of a delay due to some other jobs and responsibilities to kick off the new year. As far as this year's app will go, here are our goals:

  • iPad app
    • Revamped UI
    • Much thought and strategy put into what makes a fantastic, well-rounded scouting tool for any and all teams, no matter the differences in scouting philosophies
    • Better/more reliable Bluetooth and WiFi syncing capabilities
    • Fewer crashes
  • iPhone app
    • Not likely that this will happen due to the late start that we are contending with
    • It will, however, be a feature developed in the off-season
  • Android
    • Pretty decent chance that FRC Scout will invade the Android platform this year. We have a fantastic Android developer that we have recently accrued and he will be developing in close contact with the rest of the team
  • Website
    • Also not very likely due to the late start
    • Will be developed in off-season
    • Purpose is to create a world-wide collective FRC scouting database for all teams to utilize

In summary, we will pour all of our efforts into the few chosen platforms to make them as amazing as possible, which will set us up for better and easier improvements in the future. We apologize if this comes as bad news to some of you that were hoping for more, but we are still humans and we're giving it the best we can. I look forward to seeing where this project takes us and I'm excited at the potential of such grand ideas we are coming up with.
